Smart use of data helps a coffee chain improve assortment management and sales analysis

Ciao! caffe’s was born out of love for good ice cream and quality Italian coffee. These passions helped to forge a concept that focuses on Italian style and way of life. High quality products, such as ice creams are made on-site as well as Italian coffees which are lovingly handmade. The first Ciao! Caffé gelateria was opened in 2005 and they have since grown into a profitable coffee shop chain, serving customers in six cities across 13 locations.

Ciao! Caffé’s objective was to utilise their cash register data and present it in an easy and comprehensible way to understand business performance. The management team hoped to augment the reporting capabilities of their preferred POS system VendHQ to help provide answers to the following questions:

  • How would change in assortment management affect sales?
  • What specific sales analysis is most beneficial for Ciao! Caffé daily operations?

Stress free integration and a successful trial period convinced Kari Jones, the company’s founder, to roll out Zoined across all coffee shop locations.
